You can study for two Royal Horticulture Society qualifications at Sea Mere:
RHS Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Horticulture
requiring 21 x 6-hour days at Sea Mere

At Sea Mere the courses are taught by a panel of 3 tutors and the calendar for study days is agreed between the centre and students, so that pre-arranged dates such as school or other holidays can be avoided.
The exam is optional at Sea Mere, although our courses are planned to end in either February or June, to coincide with RHS exam dates for those who want to gain the qualification.
Students have the use of the gardens for demonstration of techniques, and plants identification - and sadly often pests and diseases! Students spend some time in the garden and some in the classroom.
The next course will start in early 2013 and cost £625.
Sadly because of the RHS requirements for assessment, it is not practical for us to offer Level 3 in Practical Horticulture. However if sufficient people come as a group and would like a tailor-made course, broadly based on the Level 3 syllabus, we would be glad to talk to you.
